    Until nowadays, La Traviata is still one of the most successful opera's in the music-literature. Giuseppe Verdi composed this opera in 1853 and it belongs to the top of Verdi's middle period of composing. The well known Prelude to the first act has a feeling of impending tragedy.
    La Traviatatells the story of the young and beautiful courtesan Violetta who falls in love with Alfredo, an ordinary and poor young man. She abandons her luxurious life because of him and finally offers her love for the sake of the future of Alfredo's family.
