14 Contradanzas para clarinete y piano

This book contains 14 contradanzas by Manuel Saumell of which 12 are for clarinet and piano and 2 for clarinet quartet. Manuel Saumell (Havana 1817 – 1970) is considered the father of the Cuban musical nationalism. Sandra Mirabal arranged these contradanzas that were originally composed for piano solo. She was born in Haiti and studdied the clarinet in Cuba, where she was the first woman graduating Summa Cum Laude. Each of the contradanzas is a little jewel. On the included CD you find, with the exception of the quartets, from each contradanza a complete version and one with only the piano accompagniment so you can “play-along”.
